Meet Uel
I am a San Francisco-based puppeteer, puppet builder, and all-around puppet devotie.
I perform on stages, in streets, at festivals, in recording studios, in the woods, and anywhere else I can find an audience.
I build custom puppets by hand. From portrait commissions to original characters.
Since December 2022 I have been running my own original puppet series, Puppet Show at the End of Time, for anyone who has ever wondered what happens when existentialism meets a hand-mouth puppet.

🎭 Puppet Show at the End of Time
Original Puppet Series | December 2022 – Ongoing | Instagram & Live Performance
What happens when you take a puppet somewhere it probably should not be and ask it the biggest questions you can think of?
That is the short answer to what Puppet Show at the End of Time is. The longer answer has been unfolding since December 2022 across Instagram, festival stages, puppet slams, street performances, and anywhere else the puppet can find an audience.
This is my original independent puppet series. It lives online and in the real world simultaneously, exploring existentialism and absurdist humour through the very specific lens of a hand-mouth puppet who has opinions about being alive.
I design and build most the characters from scratch. Every performance is different. The series is still growing and there are always more puppets being planned on the workbench.
The series has taken me from social media to the Ignite SF Puppet Slam, the Napa Valley Puppet Festival’s Forbidden Cabaret, community open mic nights, holiday markets, and five-hour walk-around improv sets. The puppet goes where I go. The show happens wherever I am.
🌲 The Wylding Woods
An immersive woodland theatrical experience for children produced by Woander — running since September 2025.
One of the most creatively rich projects I have been part of. An immersive woodland world for young audiences where I perform multiple characters including Barnaby and the Eyes of Green Heart. Every performance is different.
Every child gets a story that feels like it is happening just for them.
🎪 Bay Area Puppetry Guild — Head of Programming committee
Board Member & Programming Committee Chair | April 2023 – Present
The Bay Area Puppetry Guild is the heartbeat of the puppetry community across the San Francisco Bay Area and since April 2023 I have been proud to serve on its board as Head of Programming.
Puppetry is not a solitary art form. It lives in community, in collaboration, and in the shared joy of an audience discovering something unexpected for the first time. Everything I do with the Guild is driven by that belief.
As Programming Committee Chair I plan and coordinate the full calendar of Guild events such as performances, festivals, workshops, community gatherings and work to make the Bay Area one of the most vibrant and welcoming puppetry communities anywhere in the world.
