Position:
Guild Board Member โ Head of Programming & Programming Committee Chair
Role:
Serve on the Guild Board with primary responsibility for all programming initiatives, event planning, educational programming and monthly leading programming meetings. I lead the Programming Committee in developing and executing a comprehensive calendar of events, workshops, performances, and community engagement activities serving the Bay Area puppetry community.
Leadership & Committee Management:
- Chair and facilitate monthly Programming Committee meetings, setting agendas and guiding strategic program development
- Lead committee of volunteers in brainstorming, planning, and executing guild programming initiatives
- Collaborate with other board members on organizational strategy and community outreach
- Represent programming interests in board-level decision making
Event Planning & Coordination:
- Organize and coordinate all guild puppet events throughout the year, including performances, festivals, and community gatherings
- Curate and schedule educational workshops led by local and visiting puppetry professionals
- Manage event logistics including venue selection, vendor coordination, timeline development, and participant communication
- Coordinate with performers, workshop facilitators, and guest artists
- Oversee event promotion and ensure accessibility across all programming
Programming Development:
- Design comprehensive programming calendar aligned with guild mission and community needs
- Develop new program formats and initiatives to engage diverse audiences and skill levels
- Balance educational workshops, performance opportunities, and networking events
- Foster connections within the Bay Area puppetry community through thoughtfully designed programming
- Support guild members in professional development and artistic growth
